Capital Sports Recruiting was founded through firsthand experience navigating the US college system as an international student-athlete.
Founder and Director Ashleigh Simes progressed through the Australian junior tennis system before pursuing collegiate tennis in the United States at Lee University. During her collegiate career, Ashleigh achieved significant success, including winning the NCAA Division II National Championship and finishing her college career ranked #1 in NCAA Division II upon graduation in 2025.
Alongside competing at a high level, Ashleigh also completed a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, gaining firsthand experience balancing the demands of collegiate athletics with academics within the US college system.
Throughout her time in the NCAA system, Ashleigh gained valuable insight into the recruiting process, scholarship opportunities, coach communication, and the realities of collegiate athletics at multiple levels, including receiving offers from over 30 NCAA Division I programs through the transfer portal.
Following college, Ashleigh recently transitioned into professional tennis and currently competes internationally while holding a WTA ranking of 900.
Capital Sports Recruiting was created to use that firsthand experience to help Australian student-athletes and families better understand the US college pathway while providing honest guidance, structure, and support throughout the recruiting journey.
